I am a painter and for years, as a result of my spiritual journey, I created Spirit Houses for friends and family.  They are all unique and varied architectural forms.  The backgrounds and foregrounds are all golden, representing the source light that we all share as Spiritual Beings and the forms are black, representing our humanness and how we present ourselves on the planet. 

In October of 2000, I was at a Bette Midler concert, celebrating my sister-in-laws 60th birthday (during a hurricane).  As I sat there, listening and watching her amazing talent and personality, I wondered how I could ever create a Spirit House for someone I don't know.  It occured to me to use the astrological glyphs, as my muse, for the houses.  After all, there are only twelve of us all over the world.  Over the course of two years, I created the paintings and then had them reproduced using a giclee printing method. 

It is my hope that the Astrological Spirit Houses will be a reminder of our oneness.
